The Princeton Sub Video……
…T Digitally re-edited in 2007 and now with numerous sub-titles. This video is now in its 7th edition since the first one in 1990. Still my most popular video. Taken during the last year of operation on the Princeton Sub, this was the last operative section of the Kettle Valley Railway, which played such an important part in the history of British Columbia. The cab ride starts at the Belfort (Jura) Loops just outside of Princeton, on to Osprey Lake, Kirton Canyon, over Trout Creek Bridge into Penticton. Also covered is the Okanagan Falls branch.
Part 2 in the winter of '89 has an awesome ride in a blizzard up Tulameen and Spearing Creek Canyons and through historic Brookmere. The video is accompanied by a time line as well as a map spotting various locations. $25.00.
The Canyon Video …..
…. Canadian Pacific in the Fraser and Thompson River Canyons. The video is loosely divided into five sections. Starting at North Bend, westward to Haig including Hell's Gate with numerous tunnels and bridges. Then from North Bend eastward to Lytton past the double railway bridges at Cisco through some very rugged country. From Lytton along the Thompson River Canyon to Ashcroft including a little photographed stretch through Basque and Black Canyon. Then westward from Kamloops along Kamloops Lake with some of the steepest curves on CPR's main line on to Ashcroft. Interesting ground shots are included with the cab-ride. A separate page includes many detailed explanations of railway terminology and procedures, particularly as they appear in the video. See ordering information below. $20.00.
The Westcoast Express Video……
.This Lower Mainland commuter service began in November 1995 between Vancouver and Mission. We start at Vancouver Waterfront, eastward along Burrard Inlet, through Port Coquitlam, across Pitt River, on to Pitt Meadows, Port Hammond and Haney, along the Fraser River to Mission, with commentary along the way. The second half of the video is a non-stop cab-ride from Mission to Vancouver a few weeks later. A brief history and timeline is included. See ordering information below. $20.00.
The E&N Video-----
..Starting from Victoria on the dayliner (now known as "The Malahat") over the Niagara Canyon and Arbutus Canyon bridges, over the Malahat, through Duncan and Ladysmith. After a stop in Nanaimo we travel around Nanoose Bay, on to Parksville and then over some notable bridges to the terminus of Courtenay. We watch yard engines working in Wellcox (Nanaimo) yard, pulling the barge and readying the Port Alberni Turn, followed by a cab ride on the scenic and now prosperous Port Alberni Sub along Cameron Lake and over a number of trestles into Port Alberni. A map and description accompany the video. Some narrative. Enjoy! $20.00.
